Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack – Review

Mother being a little too experimental with these beauty and skin care products (yeah, even I doubt I am adopted), every time she is out of a product she makes me scroll through Himalaya Herbals‘s range of Face Care products (my review for Neem Scrub and Neem Pack), reads their description and then purchases whichever ones she likes. This time it was the Fairness Kesar Face Pack. And as she is pretty much worried about me ageing and my marriage, she insisted on me using it too. Although I don’t really care about my dusky complexion or even my skin (read: looks) for that matter, as always I had to give in to her nagging.
Here’s my take on the Himalaya Fairness Kesar Face Pack:

What it Claims

A natural skin lightening pack enriched with antioxidant Turmeric and Kesar, helps lighten dark spots and enhances complexion. Aloe Vera hydrates, Kaolin removes impurities and walnut exfoliates the skin giving you a blemish free complexion. Cinnabloc our breakthrough herbal sun block provides effective protection for your skin from sun’s harmful UV rays.

Ingredients

The ingredients list is pretty long. But the important ones are:
Walnut shell extract, Indian Aloe leaf extract, Glycerin, Turmeric, Spiked ginger lily extract, Saffron flower extract.
Also contains parabens and alcohol.

Direction to Use

Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around the eyes. Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with wet sponge, and wash the skin with cool water. Use once or twice a week.

Personal experience

What I liked about this Himalaya Purifying Neem Pack:

• It comes in a typical Himalaya Herbals white tube with green flip cap. Squeeze it, use it. No leakage/spillage. Travel friendly.
• It’s off-white in color and has a very pleasantly sweet fragrance.
• The texture is semi-thick, silky & smooth.
• Spreads easily & evenly on the skin. Dries quickly in about 10-15mins.
• Easy to wash – wet your fingers (sponge is not required), pat on the face, massage gently and wash it off.
• It makes the skin soft, supple, hydrated, clean, and clear.
• It is very moisturizing, doesn’t make the skin dry. Suitable for all skin types.
• It also removes tanning to a certain extent and gives your face a radiant glow. With consistent usage you might as well find improvement in your complexion.
• It contains natural ingredients like Walnut and Indian Aloe which mends skin whereas Turmeric and Saffron improves your skin’s composition.
• It also have Cinnabloc which protects the skin from harmful UV rays and acts as natural sun block.

Points to improve:

• It causes tingling sensation while applying. Might not be suitable for people with extra sensitive skin. The sensation doesn’t stay long though.
• It contains Parabens and Alcohol.
